Job Title: Complex Care Support Worker (Spinal Injury Home Care) Location-Clients home Reports To-Care Coordinator / Clinical Lead Job Purpose To deliver high-quality, one-to-one care to an individual with complex needs in their own home, supporting their health, independence, and overall wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Clinical & Specialist Care Provide care for an individual with a spinal cord injury in line with care plans Support with catheter care (monitoring output, bag management, hygiene, reporting concerns) Deliver bowel care programmes safely and respectfully Assist with continence care Monitor for autonomic dysreflexia and other complications Carry out pressure area care and repositioning Personal Care & Daily Support Assist with washing, dressing, and personal care Support with mobility and transfers using specialist equipment Assist with meals, hydration, and light household tasks Promote independence, choice, and dignity Health, Safety & Communication Follow care plans, risk assessments, and infection control procedures Maintain accurate care records Report any health or safeguarding concerns promptly Communicate effectively with the client, family, and care team Essential Requirements Minimum 6-12 months complex care experience Experience with: Spinal cord injuries Catheter care Bowel care Knowledge of pressure care and moving & handling Compassionate, reliable, and professional Desirable Experience in one-to-one home care Understanding of autonomic dysreflexia NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care Safeguarding Enhanced DBS and references required.
