Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Complex Care Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred care to a lady in her own home in Stowmarket.
You will be working with a registered Nurse at all times so support is always available.
The individual lives with Myotonic Atrophy (Myotonic Dystrophy) and requires support with tracheostomy care, ventilator support, suctioning, diabetes management, and complex health needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver consistent, safe, and dignified care within a stable home environment, ensuring comfort, wellbeing, and quality of life.
This role operates on a rota basis (Monday to Sunday), with both day and night shifts available. Shifts are provided in advance and paid weekly.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care in line with the individuals care plan
- Provide full support with personal care including bathing, dressing, and daily routines
- Deliver and support tracheostomy care in line with training and protocols
- Support ventilator management and monitoring
- Carry out suctioning procedures as required
- Support safe and effective diabetes management, including monitoring and awareness of hypo/hyperglycaemia
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans and training
- Support safe moving and handling using hoists and equipment
- Monitor and report changes in the individuals health or condition
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Support nutrition, hydration, and daily care needs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
Experience & Requirements
- At least 6 months UK care experience required
- Experience in tracheostomy care, ventilator support, and suctioning is essential
- Experience supporting individuals with complex respiratory or neurological conditions is highly desirable
- Knowledge of diabetes care and monitoring is essential
- Strong communication and observational skills
- Ability to remain calm and confident in a clinical care environment
- Full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential
