Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Complex Care Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred care to a 26-year-old gentleman in his own home in Woodbridge.
The individual lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and requires support with overnight non-invasive ventilation (NIV), alongside assistance with daily living activities to ensure comfort, safety, and quality of life.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young adult with a long-term condition, helping him to live as independently and comfortably as possible within his own home.
This role operates on a rota basis (Monday to Sunday), with both day and night shifts available.
Shifts are provided in advance and paid weekly.
Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred care in line with the individuals care plan
- Provide all aspects of personal care with dignity and respect
- Support with overnight non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in line with training and protocols
- Monitor respiratory status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
- Assist with mobility and safe moving and handling using appropriate equipment
- Support with medication administration in accordance with care plans
- Support with daily routines including hygiene, dressing, nutrition, and hydration
- Provide emotional reassurance and companionship
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support with household tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable environment
- Work closely with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent care Experience & Requirements
- At least 6 months UK care experience required
- Experience supporting individuals with neuromuscular conditions is highly desirable
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) is essential or willingness to be trained
- Strong observational skills and ability to respond calmly in clinical situations
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential Please note: Sponsorship is not available for this role.
