Job Overview
We are seeking experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care to service users in Norwich and surrounding areas. You will be supporting individuals with complex clinical needs, including:
- Jejunostomy (J-tube) care and feeding
- Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) support
- Diabetes management (including blood glucose monitoring)
- Epilepsy and seizure management
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in complex clinical care who is passionate about improving the quality of life for others. You will work on a full-time rota provided 3 months in advance, with both day and night shifts available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support
- Assist with daily living tasks (personal care, bathing, dressing, mobility)
- Administer medication and monitor health conditions in line with care plans
- Provide care for jejunostomy feeding and site management
- Support individuals using NIV equipment
- Monitor and manage diabetes, including blood glucose checks
- Recognise and respond appropriately to epileptic seizures
- Provide manual handling and hoist support
- Carry out or assist with clinical tasks such as suctioning (where trained)
- Promote independence, dignity, and choice
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Transport service users to appointments or activities where required
- Maintain accurate records and follow care plans and risk assessments
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 6 months UK care experience
- Proven experience in complex care, including:
- Jejunostomy care
- NIV support
- Diabetes management
- Epilepsy/seizure management
- Medication administration and manual handling
Desirable Skills
- Experience with suctioning
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
- Valid UK driving licence
- Basic First Aid training
