Clover Care Group is looking for an experienced female Complex Care Worker to join a dedicated live-in care package supporting a client with a high-level spinal cord injury and complex care needs.

The Role:

  • Live-in care – 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • Female care staff required
  • Support for a client with a significant spinal cord injury
  • Suprapubic catheter care
  • Client manages their own bowel care
  • Client can mobilise and self-transfer but may be unsteady
  • Respiratory monitoring and support
  • Positioning and pressure-area prevention
  • Monitoring for respiratory deterioration or infection
  • Working alongside the wider care team and following an individualised care plan

Key Clinical Experience:

Due to the level of the spinal injury, the client is at significant risk of Autonomic Dysreflexia, which can develop rapidly and become a medical emergency. You must be confident recognising AD, understanding potential triggers such as bladder, bowel, skin and pressure-related issues, carrying out preventative checks, monitoring blood pressure and following an emergency protocol promptly. The client also has respiratory needs, including a restricted cough reflex and a history of chest infections. Staff will support with respiratory observations, oxygen saturation monitoring, positioning, prescribed respiratory exercises and recognising signs of deterioration or infection. Previous spinal cord injury and Autonomic Dysreflexia experience is highly desirable.

You should be:

  • Experienced in complex care
  • Confident supporting clients with spinal cord injuries
  • Ideally experienced with Autonomic Dysreflexia
  • Comfortable with catheter care
  • Compassionate, respectful and person-centred
  • Reliable, professional and trustworthy
  • Calm and confident in an emergency
  • Able to recognise subtle changes in a client’s condition
  • A strong communicator and positive team player
  • Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility
  • Committed to promoting dignity, choice, independence and quality of life

Training and competency assessments will be provided where required, but applicants must already have a strong foundation in complex care.

What Clover Care Offers:

  • 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off live-in rota
  • Competitive pay
  • Full induction and competency assessment
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Support from the Clover Care team
  • Opportunity to build a long-term relationship with the client and care team

If you are an experienced Complex Care Worker looking for a rewarding 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off live-in position, and you share our commitment to safe, compassionate and person-centred care, we would love to hear from you.
