We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance with complex care patients in their family home in Norwich. The role involves supporting the service users with various complex care needs and is to start as soon as possible. Previous experience in senior care and complex care will be advantageous. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalised care and support. You will be given your working rota 3 months in advance and paid weekly.
Duties:
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Provide specialised care for individuals with complex care or other cognitive impairments
- PEG Feeding
- Suctioning
- Ventilator experience
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Manage behaviour effectively through compassionate behaviour management techniques
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients of all ages
- Drive clients to appointments or activities when necessary, ensuring safe transportation
- Catheter Care
- Administer first aid in emergency situations and follow health and safety protocols
Requirements:
- Experience in Complex Care, assisted living or home care is desirable
- Knowledge of patient care procedures including medication administration and first aid
- Familiarity with Brain Injury, Spinal, degenerative diseases, chronic fatigue syndrome, and senior care practices
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when required
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if needed
- Relevant qualifications in caregiving or health & social care are advantageous but not essential
