This is a full stack role requiring Ruby on Rails experience and familiarity with modern JS frameworks. They use Vue but are open to interviewing people with exposure to others like React, Angular, etc.
Genuinely tech for good product in the Education sector. Up to £55,000 for a full time mid level engineer or a part time Senior Engineer. Remote in the UK OR hybrid in Edinburgh. Quarterly company get togethers.
You will join a small team that currently consists of 2 other full time Ruby Engineers: one senior and one Head of Engineering. There are other technical individuals in the business, too.
You will work on a sophisticated product for the Education sector, specifically built to level the playing field and provide teachers with a fun & interactive tool for students. The product is incredibly effective for students who are falling behind or who struggle with traditional methods of learning.
They are currently in an explorative phase with AI seeing how it can be used to support their work and increase productivity but not overly relying on it, especially given the importance for safe and secure software in education. Someone who has some exposure to AI tooling, understanding of the trade offs/ current limitations and who has an open mind about its use cases would be perfect!
Hiring someone who understands how to write good code, understands the fundamentals/ reasons behind decisions, and who is interested in the company mission is the main thing here!
