This role supports one of New Zealand’s most significant and technically complex vertical infrastructure development currently underway. The project is a large-scale, secure operational facility being delivered through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) and joint venture model, bringing together some of the country’s most experienced construction, engineering and service delivery organisations. Designed to operate around the clock once complete, the facility incorporates high-security environments, complex building systems, and long-term asset management requirements. The project environment is fast-paced, highly collaborative and governance-led, with strong interface management across public and private sector stakeholders.

Based in Templeton, Christchurch and reporting to the People & Culture Manager, the HR / Recruitment Advisor will work closely with teams across pre‑construction and delivery. This role is integral to project success and supports informed decision‑making and strong workforce and capability outcomes. You will provide trusted advice across recruitment and HR activities, working collaboratively with internal teams, joint venture partners, and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of project workforce and resourcing objectives
  • Provide professional HR and recruitment advice and support to the project leadership team
  • Partner closely with operational leaders to understand and meet resourcing needs
  • Support quality, programme, safety, and workforce outcomes through effective people practices
  • Ensure HR and recruitment activities align with governance, contractual, legislative, and compliance requirements
  • Support project teams throughout the project lifecycle, from mobilisation through delivery
About You

  • Relevant experience in HR and/or recruitment within a complex project or operational environment
  • A strong understanding of structured, governance‑led people and recruitment processes

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven experience in a similar HR or recruitment advisory role
  • Strong problem‑solving and stakeholder management capability
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced project environment
