Talan is recruiting for an IT Application Support Analyst to join the London-based CIT Business Support Team dedicated to the Commodities-Indexed Transactions Group (CIT). This is on-site 5 days a week. CIT provides liquidity and market-making services across commodity markets to a large and diversified base of clients worldwide. Products include Base and Precious Metals, Oil, European and North American Power and Natural Gas, Coal, Emissions and Agricultural Commodities.
The CIT Business Support Team is one of two CIT IT sub-teams; the other team is the CIT Core Development Team. Both teams work on the trading floor in close partnership with CIT. The primary responsibility of the Business Support Team is to provide front-to-back production support for the CIT platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the global commodities in-house platform, critical for front-to-back functionality including pricing, risk management, market data sharing, p&l reporting, settlements, physical scheduling, trade confirmations and regulatory reporting.
- Proactively monitoring the system.
- Configuring the system.
- Analysing and resolving production support technical and functional issues.
- Fielding questions from all CIT personnel including traders, marketers, risk managers, and middle office and keeping them informed of system issues and changes affecting them.
- Advising the core development team of necessary bug fixes and enhancements.
- Participating in the first-line support rota, which includes an early shift for resolving overnight batch issues and an on-call system for overnight and weekend support.
- Release management.
Skills and Experience
This role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills. The analyst will engage directly with many different teams within the bank including trading, sales, middle office, back office, confirmations, market risk and accounting. Therefore, the ability to pick up diverse product and process knowledge will be critical.
Functional skills
- Front to back process.
- Knowledge on commodities/PNL/Pricing is a plus.
Technical skills
- Intermediate level relational database and SQL skills are required.
- Python or other programming skills.
- Good knowledge of script languages (Powershell…) and Windows environment.
