Our platform supports over 30 formats spanning languages, container formats, and operating systems, with enterprise-grade features, including vulnerability and security scanning, world-class policy management and enforcement, and web-scale to handle the Fortune 500. Organizations integrate Cloudsmith as critical infrastructure into their development, deployment, and distribution pipelines, trusting us to protect and accelerate, no matter the scale.
Backed by top-tier investors and on a trajectory toward IPO and beyond, we\’re building mission-critical infrastructure that powers software delivery for organizations worldwide. We operate at the cutting edge of cloud-native technology, tackling complex distributed systems challenges that directly impact millions of developers. Now is an exciting time to join us as we revolutionize how organizations deliver and secure software and help write the next chapter of our rocketship growth story.
The Role
Cloudsmith is building a new data platform that is critical to our product and business strategy. It will power the insights our customers need to secure and scale their software supply chains, and it will enable the next generation of AI-driven features that leverage our large volumes of static and event data.
As Product Manager, Data and AI Platform, you’ll define and deliver the capabilities that make this possible. You’ll work closely with engineering to shape the infrastructure and pipelines that feed both internal systems and customer-facing features. Experience working directly with data, through analysis, prototyping or a prior technical role, will help you anticipate use cases and advocate for strong data foundations. You’ll collaborate with other product teams to ensure the platform supports features that rely on data, like usage insights, security analytics, and emerging AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will be:
-
Own the data platform roadmap: Define and communicate a clear strategy for how Cloudsmith’s data becomes a product, with clear priorities and outcomes. Success means delivering a roadmap that is aligned with company strategy, has stakeholder buy-in, and leads to shipped capabilities on time.
-
Translate company-wide data needs into priorities: Gather requirements from teams across engineering, product, GTM, and operations, and consolidate them into a single, prioritized roadmap and backlog that results in clear, actionable initiatives for engineering.
-
Define the use cases and requirements for core data systems: Work with stakeholders to identify how data should be made available and usable at scale; example use cases include customer health insights, billing, support tooling, and product analytics, and platform features.
-
Provide clear product direction and trade-off decisions: Ensure engineering has requirements and priorities for each initiative, and facilitate timely decisions that keep projects aligned with product goals and milestones.
-
Lead the product development lifecycle: Lead discovery, validation, and prioritization of opportunities, and collaborate closely with engineering as solutions are designed, built, and released.
-
Drive release, iteration, and enablement: Ensure new capabilities are successfully launched and adopted. Collect feedback, measure impact, and iterate on improvements. Work with product marketing, customer success, and other teams so that new capabilities are understood, adopted and delivering value.
-
Enable customer-facing features: Work with other product managers and designers to understand the data their features require, and ensure the platform delivers it in the right structure and quality. You’ll own the underlying data capabilities and interfaces, while those teams own the design and delivery of the customer-facing experiences.
-
Support AI readiness: Ensure the platform produces structured, high-quality, and trustworthy data to power AI features, contributing to the delivery of new AI-powered capabilities over time.
Who should apply
You may not be a data engineer or a data scientist, but you understand how data is structured, transformed, and productized and you’re excited to make it useful.

Experience leading strategic initiatives on complex, ambiguous and technical products
-
A proven track record as a product manager, having successfully delivered products from inception to adoption

A collaborative approach to working with engineering, design, marketing, and go-to-market teams
-
Experience shipping high-quality platforms that drove efficiency and measurable business outcomes
-
Excellent communication and storytelling skills; you can distill complexity into clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences
-
Experience performing customer or stakeholder research to understand needs and uncover insights
-
A systems mindset: you think beyond single features and care about how data flows across the platform
You may be a great fit if you have:
-
Experience as a software engineer, data engineer, or data scientist
-
Exposure to AI/ML workflows, or excitement about helping bring AI-powered products to life
-
A strong interest in developer platforms, DevSecOps, or software supply chain challenges
