The Role
As a digital/product designer you will work with the Brand team, reporting to the Principal Brand Designer. You will design a stream of improvements and new experiences for our website, creating atoms, components, blocks and pages that solve specific challenges and drive broader brand and communication objectives. Your work will shape how we meet our target customers online.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept Development – develop creative concepts in response to business problems; translate content into engaging online communication; evaluate ideas with the brand and wider design teams; support marketing, sales and product functions in publishing content and communicating key messages.
- Digital Design – design new components, pages and interactive experiences for Cloudsmith.com; create micro-sites and one-off online tools; design for social media channels; act as the go-to digital designer for novel online experiences.
- Design Systems & Continuous Improvement – continually improve existing pages, blocks and components; maintain and extend the website design system; keep the website aligned with other touchpoints such as the web application and documentation site through regular collaboration.
Required Experience, Qualities & Skills
- 3+ years of relevant digital design experience working in-house at a technology or digital product company, or agency experience.
- Excellent portfolio of web/online design work, including interactive projects that can be viewed and interacted with.
- Strong fundamentals – layout, typography, colour, illustration.
- Advanced Figma skills; experience with design systems, libraries and variables.
- Hands-on collaboration with web developers to translate design into working builds.
- Deep understanding of what can and cannot be built for the browser and ability to work within realistic technical constraints.
- Desirable prototyping skills in HTML, CSS, JS (even if supported by AI tools).
