About the Role
We are looking for a talented WordPress Developer to join our growing team in Norwich. This is an exciting opportunity to take a hands-on role in developing, maintaining, and optimising WordPress websites that deliver excellent user experiences and support business growth.
You’ll work on a wide range of projects, from building bespoke themes and plugins to improving site performance and implementing new features. Collaborating with our marketing, design, and content teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping the digital presence of our brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimise WordPress websites.
- Build and customise themes and plugins to project requirements.
- Ensure responsive, user-friendly, and accessible design across all devices.
- Integrate APIs, third-party tools, and eCommerce functionality (WooCommerce).
- Optimise websites for performance, speed, SEO, and security.
- Work with designers and content teams to bring creative concepts to life.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Stay up to date with WordPress updates, tools, and industry best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer (minimum 2–3 years).
- Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Experience with custom theme and plugin development.
- Familiarity with WordPress REST API and integrations.
- Good understanding of UX/UI principles and responsive design.
- Knowledge of website optimisation techniques (speed, SEO, security).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with WooCommerce and eCommerce integrations.
- Familiarity with version control (Git).
