Job Description
Location: Norwich (Hybrid – 2–3 days in the office)
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 per annum
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and skilled IT Technician to join our team in Norwich. This role will see you providing technical support to staff, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring the smooth running of our technology infrastructure.
You’ll be the first point of contact for IT queries, delivering hands-on troubleshooting and remote support, while also assisting with the implementation of new systems and technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software, and network issues (both on-site and remote).
- Install, configure, and maintain PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
- Support and maintain business applications and user accounts (Microsoft 365, Active Directory, etc.).
- Monitor system performance, backups, and security protocols to ensure reliability.
- Assist with IT projects including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
- Manage tickets through the helpdesk system, ensuring issues are logged, prioritised, and resolved within agreed SLAs.
- Maintain IT documentation and asset inventories.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers when required.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as an IT Technician, IT Support Engineer, or similar role (2+ years).
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.
- Experience supporting networks (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs).
- Knowledge of hardware setup, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Understanding of IT security and data protection best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Azure Active Directory and Intune (MDM).
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Exposure to cloud platforms and SaaS applications.
- Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL).
