About Cloudscaler
Cloudscaler is a Central London-based cloud consultancy delivering secure, enterprise-scale AWS solutions to government and private sector organisations across the UK. This role will involve client site travel depending on project requirements, with one key client requiring onsite attendance in Bath approximately once every two weeks.
Security Clearance Requirements
Due to working with a number of government bodies, SC clearance is required for our customer facing teams. You do not need active SC clearance as we will undertake checks upon you joining, but you must be eligible to pass SC clearance. In future, DV clearance may be required, so the ability/willingness to pass DV clearance is advantageous but not essential.
Due to the nature of this project we are only able to accept UK based applicants for this role.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and operate secure cloud platforms supporting complex transformation programmes. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, applying AWS best practices, security-first principles, and modern platform engineering methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AWS Landing Zones and multi-tenant cloud environments
- Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Deliver secure and scalable cloud solutions in regulated environments
- Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to enhance reliability and resilience
- Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to deliver successful cloud outcomes
Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale AWS platforms
- Proven experience implementing AWS Landing Zones
- Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise
- Experience designing and operating secure cloud environments
- Experience working with central government, defence, or highly regulated clients
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
