What makes this role exciting: CloudPay is looking for an experienced and proactive Ireland Payroll Supervisor to oversee and lead a team of payroll professionals within a bureau environment. The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll services while maintaining high customer satisfaction and team performance. This role combines technical payroll expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to process improvement in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

You must already be living in the UK to apply for the role and have full eligibility to work in the UK. The company will NOT sponsor a work visa for this position.

Main responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of payroll professionals, ensuring their development and performance. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and team check-ins. Guide on complex payroll issues and ensure the team adheres to company policies and legal requirements. Provide payroll system training and guidance on annual updates to the new team members.
  • Payroll Operations: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data collection, processing, reporting, and reconciliation. Ensure the accurate & timely completion of Irish payrolls.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Act as a point of escalation for client queries, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally. Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and retention. Attend monthly client calls and follow up on queries.
  • Process Improvement and Compliance: Continuously review payroll processes to identify inefficiencies and lead improvements. Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and industry trends, ensuring compliance. Utilize analytics to review team member and client performance and lead improvements where required. Ensuring clients and team members work in line with agreed calendar deadlines.

Experience needed for this role:

  • Proven experience in managing an end-to-end Irish/Ireland payroll process within a bureau environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proactive, solution-focused approach to challenges, with the ability to share information and interact positively with others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing teams (although we will consider experienced payrollers looking to move into a supervisor role).
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying updated on payroll trends and legislation.
  • A CIPP diploma in payroll management is advantageous.
