The EHS Director, EMEA & APAC will have a thorough understanding of relevant EHS country specific regulations (across EMEA & APAC) as they apply to data centers and facilities under construction. The EHS Director shall provide leadership and management of regulatory and safety requirements at each data center site. This position will be responsible for ensuring all necessary and relevant training for site personnel is delivered, driving a safety culture at every turn and in all interactions. The EHS Director will be responsible for supporting environmental permitting requirements across our locations and will work to ensure compliance with such permits. The position reports to the Vice President, EHS.
Other responsibilities include:
- Practicing safe working techniques and reinforcing all safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as defined.
- Providing daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee/supervisor level to ensure a safe, consistent and effective approach.
- Assisting in the identification of possible risks losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure effectiveness.
- Ensuring that contractor personnel working across all our regional locations follow all policies and safety requirements.
- Creating site training plans and ensuring employee orientations and emergency response trainings are delivered to all, as required.
- Ensuring inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected. Coordinate with relevant senior and manager colleagues on facility deficiencies and safety inspections.
- Maintaining all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements.
- Assisting with maintaining the Site Preparedness and Emergency Plans & Procedures.
- Reviewing accidents and incidents which occur and conducting field audits, managing all corrective actions.
- Maintaining records regarding worker training and safety.
- Maintaining working relationships with local authorities.
- Creating and maintaining risk assessments.
- Developing and maintaining a lessons-learned database from incident review and causation analysis.

Requirements
- Extensive experience of progressive Environmental, Health & Safety, including significant responsibility for large, complex facilities and/or mission-critical infrastructure (data centers, industrial, energy, life sciences, or large-scale construction).
- Strong experience in a senior EHS leadership role with regional or multi-country responsibility across EMEA (APAC also would be advantageous but not necessary).
- Demonstrated experience building, scaling, and governing EHS programs across multiple sites and jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to influence senior leadership, operations teams, contractors, and external stakeholders without direct supervisory authority.
- Experience supporting both construction (greenfield and brownfield) and operational environments concurrently.
