The Electrical Project Manager will oversee the construction design, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for data center projects. This role focuses on ensuring all electrical infrastructure is implemented safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with CloudHQ standards, tenant-specific requirements, and local regulations.
As part of the Construction Management team, the Electrical Project Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day coordination between contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of electrical systems in mission-critical facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Project Oversight for Electrical Systems
- Lead and manage the installation and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Ensure electrical systems are delivered to meet CloudHQ technical standards, tenant needs, and compliance with local codes, including energy efficiency principles.
- Proactively address electrical design or installation challenges on-site, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining the project’s critical delivery path.
- Monitor contractor progress and ensure alignment with design specifications and regulatory requirements during implementation.
- Review construction drawings and specifications, confirming technical compliance and feasibility of execution.
- Monitor detailed project plans that include timeline tracking, resource allocation, and cost controls specific to electrical workstreams.
- Coordinate project schedules to ensure electrical equipment procurement, delivery, and installation align with construction milestones.
- Drive value engineering and innovative solutions to optimize performance, efficiency, and cost.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure all work is in compliance with contracts, technical designs, and building codes.
- Lead weekly project meetings to track progress, risks, and actionable outcomes related to electrical systems delivery.
- Prepare facilities for commissioning processes, ensuring that electrical systems are tested and validated before tenant or operational handover.
- Monitor procurement processes, ensuring all electrical components meet design specifications and delivery timelines.
- Monitor and manage vendor performance for equipment and services related to electrical scopes.
- Ensure contractors adhere to contract requirements, project budgets, and performance standards, including safety protocols for high-voltage installations.
- Manage relationships with suppliers of major electrical systems (e.g., generators, UPS systems, switchgear) for cost-effective and timely delivery.
- Ensure all electrical construction activities fully comply with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and CloudHQ standards for safety and performance.
- Enforce strict adherence to contractor safety protocols during both installation and commissioning phases.
- Promote a culture of safety on site and work closely with HSE teams to implement and monitor safety practices.
- Ensure sustainability practices and energy-efficient design principles are integrated into electrical infrastructure.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting challenges, risks, and milestones achieved during electrical delivery.
- Maintain detailed records for schedule monitoring and compliance checks specific to electrical phases.
- Coordinate with tenant teams to align electrical infrastructure design and execution with specific operational needs.
- Deliver post-construction reports documenting issues, resolutions, and remaining actions related to electrical scopes of work.
- Technical Expertise in Electrical Systems
- Proven experience managing the design, installation, and commissioning of complex electrical systems for mission-critical facilities.
- Solid understanding of electrical infrastructure, including familiarity with design software tools.
- Experience managing large-scale construction projects, ensuring timely delivery of electrical systems within schedule and budget constraints.
- Proficient in project tracking tools.
- Skilled in identifying risks during project delivery phases and implementing mitigation strategies without sacrificing quality or performance.
- Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and electrical regulations governing mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of redundancy and sustainability practices for electrical systems in large-scale facilities.
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and clients, bridging technical requirements with execution strategies.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, drive successful outcomes, and resolve conflicts effectively in fast-paced construction environments.
- Strong technical problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.

- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical project management within data center projects or similar industrial-scale applications.
- Track record of delivering electrical scopes for hyperscale data centers or high-tech industries such as semiconductor manufacturing or pharmaceuticals.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP, CEng, LEED AP, or equivalents are advantageous.
