About the Role 

Cloudhouse are looking to hire a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Junior Technical Author to join our documentation team. In this role, you will assist in creating clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documentation for our products and services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or grow their career in technical writing within a supportive and collaborative environment.  

Responsibilities 

  • Contribute to both large and small-scale projects, working both individually and as part of a team, where appropriate  
  • Collaborate with software developers, product owners, and SMEs to understand the scope of the documentation requirements for your allocated product(s)
  • Create and maintain guidelines and templates for documentation to ensure consistency and clarity
  • Learn how to review and edit documentation produced by various teams to ensure quality, clarity, and adherence to established standards
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on technical writing best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that customer-facing documentation meets user needs and aligns with the platform's capabilities

Requirements 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Basic understanding of technical concepts, software development, or IT systems
  • Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, MadCap Flare, Confluence, Git, or similar) 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a technical writing career

Additional Experience 

  • Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and/or legacy operating systems is advantageous
  • Familiar with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience in DevOps, Security, or Compliance IT sectors
