The Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering organisation is responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximal business value, fit-for-purpose solution design and efficient adoption roadmaps for our customers. You will work as part of a team that reflects a diverse set of backgrounds, and you will collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering and Customer Support to drive customer success.

As a Solutions Engineer, you are the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare. You will aid your customers and will work closely with every team to create scalable solutions that meet their needs. A broad knowledge of Internet performance and security technology is required, and you should be curious about maintaining and developing new knowledge to keep up with product innovation. All resources and training required to be effective for the role will be provided.

Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in the IT industry
  • Previous experience in a pre-sales SE or consulting role
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong command of business English and one or more regional languages as applicable
  • Ability to manage a project, meet deadlines, and prioritise between competing demands
  • Empathy with customers and ability to identify challenges and pain points
  • Understanding of how the Internet works; knowledge of TCP/UDP, DNS (authoritative vs recursive), TLS/SSL, HTTP
  • Understanding of buying decisions and ability to explain ROI
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape for DDoS, CDN, Performance, DNS, Developer platform or Zero-Trust/SASE
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 10–15 days per quarter)

Bonus

  • Polish language skill to a business conversation level
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash) and a desire to expand
  • Exposure to emerging security trends such as Zero Trust
