About the Digital Native Segment

Digital Native SEs work with innovative, cloud‑native, enterprise companies to drive in‑depth product discussions, communicate value quickly, and enable secure, high‑performance Internet experiences.

What You’ll Do as a Senior Solutions Engineer

  • Collaborate with clients from early‑stage ideation through production planning.
  • Work on the art‑of‑the‑possible, adopting a deploy‑to‑production mindset and delivering best‑practice guidance.
  • Advocate for customers through technical and industry knowledge sharing with the broader solutions engineering community.
  • Contribute to knowledge bases across networking, cybersecurity, and edge computing.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical discussions and implementations to generate new business and expand existing accounts.
  • Qualify prospects, discover technical requirements, lead demonstrations, design solutions, and collaborate on PoCs.
  • Advise existing customers on best practices, implementation of Cloudflare products and features, and strategic guidance on internet security and performance.
  • Travel 20‑30% to meet prospects, attend conferences, and collaborate with teammates.

Qualifications

  • Experience building or contributing to web applications.
  • Polished communication and executive presentation skills across stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with engineers and senior executives in large strategic accounts.
  • Experience managing technical sales within large accounts, including champion relationships, technical wins, and validation.
  • Deep understanding of Cloudflare solutions: DDoS mitigation, firewalls, TLS, VPN, DLP, networking (TCP, UDP, DNS, IPv4/IPv6, BGP, GRE, SD‑WAN, MPLS), HTTP reverse/forward proxy, zero‑trust access, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and scripting (JavaScript, Python, Golang, BASH).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as FedRAMP, GDPR, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC‑2, ISO/IEC.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (not strictly required).

  • Graduate‑level degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Relevant industry certifications or Terraform experience.
  • Experience with emerging technical trends such as machine learning, GenAI, DevOps, and security operations.
