About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Data Capture Technician to operate reality capture equipment, such as 360-degree cameras and other surveying tools, in a variety of environments. The technician will be responsible for capturing comprehensive data of construction sites using different equipment and methodologies that align with algorithmic analysis.

We are looking for someone who is hardworking, responsible, and passionate about fieldwork, with the ability to effectively use technology to collect detailed site information. This is a part-time role, requiring one day of work per week.

What You'll Do

  • Capture high-quality site data using 360° cameras and other data capture equipment across active construction sites.
  • Document site progress accurately by collecting visual data that supports project tracking and AI-powered construction solutions.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Work closely with the Project Team to meet project requirements and adapt to changing site conditions.
  • Handle and maintain company equipment responsibly, ensuring all captured data meets quality standards.
  • Follow detailed instructions and complete data capture tasks accurately and consistently.

What We're Looking For

  • Availability to work at least one full day per week during daytime hours.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites while following all safety requirements.
  • Able to walk up to 20,000+ steps per day and perform light physical activities as part of the role.
  • Willing to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and work in various weather conditions.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, or other technology to capture and record data.
  • Previous fieldwork experience is an advantage.
  • A background in Construction, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Site Inspections, Photography, or Reality Capture is highly preferred.

Important: Please read before applying. This is not a standard videography or flexible freelance gig. We are looking for reliable, punctual, and physically active individuals to capture critical data on active construction sites.

The logistics:

  • Part-Time: Each construction site requires 1-2 days of capture per week. This is not a full-time role unless you are willing and able to cover multiple sites within your region.
  • Fixed Schedule: Our capture days are set by the project locations. We require full-day availability (typically 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM). This role is not compatible with "after-hours" work or flexible university schedules.

Safety and Requirements:

  • CSCS Card: Safety is our priority. All technicians must have a valid CSCS card before their first day on-site.
  • Already certified? Great, you can start immediately. Candidates with the CSCS card will be prioritized.
  • Not certified? We will provide the support and resources to help you complete this training before you begin.
  • Safety Gear: Steel-toed safety boots are mandatory at all times. If you don't already own a pair, we will reimburse the cost to ensure you have the correct protection.

The Environment:

You will be on active construction sites. This means wearing full PPE (hard hat, boots, high-vis), walking 20,000+ steps a day, and working outdoors regardless of the weather.

Precision Over Creativity: Your goal is high-quality, systematic data capture following a strict technical brief.
