The principal focus is to advise customer management teams to help articulate tangible, strategic, and financial impact that Cloudera's platforms can deliver to their organizations. In most cases it involves delivering disruptive business cases and strategic discovery within our most strategic customers. Your engagement forms the basis for capital allocation entreaties for future looking investments in our data platforms by senior stakeholders including Board of Directors.
Cloudera is looking for driven, inquisitive and zealous individuals, who can help our customers solve their most business critical challenges, and assist them with rapid growth, scalability, and adroitness. This is a critical role with access to a multitude of senior stakeholders internally and externally. This individual closely aligns with Cloudera's Senior Leadership and is accountable for managing C-level executive relationships with our most strategic and marquee customers.
As a Principal of Business Value Management you will:
- Provide strategic thought leadership and expert consultation to customer execs through compelling business case presentations and financial models to support digital transformation and business improvement programs.
- Work closely with customer LOBs, alongside sales and other functions, to identify, prioritize and quantify key business drivers and metrics, and help customers understand how our solutions will help them achieve their strategic and financial goals.
- Facilitate internal and external value discovery workshops leveraging the Cloudera design thinking methodology to map out customers 'today' vs. 'tomorrow' business processes across a diverse range of industries.
- Act as Cloudera's executive evangelist representing Cloudera at global business conferences and executive roundtables.
We're excited about you if you have:
- 5-10 years of professional experience, ideally in consultative, strategic, and analytical customer-facing roles. Ideal candidates will have 3 to 4 years of post-MBA professional experience with a management consulting firm or a similar role in Business Value Management.
- Strong quantitative and modelling skills with a thorough understanding of financial and accounting concepts including DCF, NPV, IRR etc.
- Deep understanding of one or more strategic industries: Financial Services, Manufacturing (including Automotive), Consumer Goods and/or Telco (CMT).
- Poised executive presence with succinct presentation / facilitation skills, comfortable collaborating with and presenting to C-suite executives.
- Driven, high energy, entrepreneurial self-starter, comfortable with running initiatives and programs independently within a high growth/start up & fast paced technology company.
- Experience in a Sales environment / interacting with Sales teams preferred.
- Experience in the Software and/or Business Impact of Analytics, Big Data, Machine Learning/AI, Cloud is a plus.
- Innovation/Design Thinking experience is a plus.
- Comfortable with 30 – 40% travel.
