Tangible is a fast-growing, tech-driven platform providing liquidity solutions to LPs and GPs in the private-markets secondaries space. By combining deep sector expertise with modern infrastructure, we unlock liquidity across private equity, private credit, and real assets, transforming the industry and enabling investors to move faster and smarter.

We are looking for a Chief Architect to define and lead the technical vision behind Tangible’s platform and integration strategy with global banks and financial institutions. This role is ideal for a strategic yet hands‑on technical leader with deep expertise in enterprise‑grade integrations, financial protocols, security, and regulatory compliance. You will shape Tangible’s technical foundation — building scalable, secure, and interoperable systems that power liquidity across private markets.

Tasks

Technical Strategy & Vision

  • Define and maintain Tangible’s technical architecture roadmap, aligning it with business strategy and long‑term growth objectives.
  • Drive architectural decisions for scalability, reliability, and security across all platform components and integrations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities to enhance platform performance and efficiency.
  • Own the end‑to‑end design of integrations with banks, custodians, and financial institutions.
  • Establish and enforce integration standards, APIs, and communication protocols to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Design and oversee secure, high‑performance systems supporting payments, settlements, KYC/AML workflows, and regulatory reporting.
  • Define and implement observability, resilience, and fault‑tolerance strategies for high‑volume transaction processing.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to financial and data security regulations (e.g., GDPR, PSD2, SOC2).
  • Implement best practices for encryption, identity and access management (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM), and overall data protection.
  • Define and uphold architectural standards, coding guidelines, and review processes to maintain quality and reliability across teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, engineering, compliance, and operations teams to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison in discussions with external partners, including banks, financial institutions, and vendors.
  • Communicate technical strategy, risks, and trade‑offs clearly to executive leadership and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering teams, ensuring architectural consistency and delivery excellence.
  • Mentor senior engineers and architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical mastery.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and professional development across the engineering organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software architecture, with at least 5 years in financial services or fintech integrations.
  • Proven expertise in API design, enterprise integrations, and distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of financial protocols (e.g., FIX, SWIFT, ISO 20022) and secure data exchange.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containerization, and networking.
  • Hands‑on experience with data security, encryption, and compliance frameworks (KYC/AML, PSD2, GDPR).
  • Familiarity with identity and access management standards (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM).
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams and influencing technical strategy at the executive level.
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced startup environment, balancing innovation with regulatory and security rigor.

This is a rare opportunity to define the architectural backbone of a fast‑scaling fintech—driving innovation, trust, and transforming the secondaries market at a global scale. If you’re inspired by complex systems and bold ideas, now’s the time to join us.
