Overview

My client, a data centric global organization are currently seeking a senior Cloud Architect with a breadth and depth of experience deploying enterprise solutions across a number of cloud technologies. Reporting to the director of Global Architecture, the successful candidate will join the London-based EMEA Technical Architecture team whilst working on technical Cloud strategy, the implementation of new SOA based product offerings and aiding with the evolution of existing product offerings.

Responsibilities

As the Senior Cloud Architect you must have demonstrable success and experience in delivering Cloud services end-to-end, from requirements gathering and design, through to launch and on-going maintenance and have a strong infrastructure background. A solid understanding of Public and Private Cloud (both IaaS and PaaS) offerings, integration of hybrid Cloud solutions, data and application security in those environments, HTTP/REST/SOA and distributed storage are a must.

Ideally you will have experience with Big Data or Data Warehousing solutions.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • (Ideally) experience working with data warehousing and/or BI solutions and concepts;
  • A strong understanding of infrastructure architecture principles;
  • A demonstrable working knowledge of the following:
  • Current IaaS/PaaS offerings (public and private);
  • Current storage and storage transport technologies (ideally with experience around distributed storage);
  • Current web technologies such as HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, WebSockets, etc;
  • Current database technologies such as MySQL and Oracle (and ideally experience with NoSQL/BigData solutions such as HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB);
