About the Role

CloudBees is hiring a Senior Accountant to support our commissions accounting operations while partnering closely with the General Ledger (G&L) team. Roughly half of the role is dedicated to commissions accounting—ensuring accurate, timely calculations and reconciliations—while the majority of the remaining time supports core G&L activities such as month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Systems and data integration work is a consistent part of the role, connecting our accounting platforms and improving how financial data flows across the function. This is a high-visibility position with broad exposure across accounting, offering strong learning and growth opportunities for someone looking to deepen and broaden their finance career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support commissions accounting operations—approximately 50% of the role—by calculating, recording, and reconciling sales commissions in accordance with company policy.
  • Partner with the General Ledger (G&L) team to execute month-end and quarter-end close, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain systems and data integration across accounting platforms, ensuring data flows accurately between systems and supporting ongoing automation efforts.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by compiling supporting documentation and schedules.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen internal controls and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, CloudBees accounting policies, and other guidelines.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and month-end close.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and core accounting operations.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience supporting systems and data integration between financial applications.

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience with commissions accounting or sales compensation.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite (or a comparable ERP) and integration or automation tooling.
