The Role:
As Senior H&S Advisor, you’ll play a vital role in driving a proactive Safety, Health & Wellbeing culture across a large delivery area. You’ll work closely with operational teams and supply chain partners, providing support, assurance and guidance to ensure the safe delivery of complex civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading all SH&W activity for your designated delivery area
- Building trusted relationships with construction and supply chain teams
- Supporting and promoting corporate and local safety initiatives
- Undertaking regular site inspections and identifying trends or anomalies
- Managing audit/inspection findings and monitoring close‑out actions
- Supporting investigations and helping drive local improvements
- Ensuring compliance with internal safety management systems
- Carrying out internal audits and surveillance activity
- Promoting wellbeing and behavioural safety programmes
- Participating in the on‑call rota when required
- Contributing to the wider SH&W function across the project
About You:
We’re looking for a confident communicator with strong operational safety experience gained on major construction or civil engineering projects.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
- Tech IOSH (or higher)
- Strong knowledge of site safety within a construction environment
- Ability to influence behaviours and encourage good practice
- Excellent communication and engagement skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced setting
- Full UK driving licence + own vehicle
- Valid CSCS card
