Cloud Recruitment are working with a reputable employer within the heavy plant engineering sector who are looking to recruit experienced Workshop Mechanical Fitters. This is a workshop-based position, ideal for engineers who prefer hands-on repair, rebuild and maintenance work without nationwide travel.
The Role
- Workshop repairs, servicing and rebuilds of heavy plant machinery
- Mechanical strip-downs, inspections and rebuilds
- Hydraulics work including diagnosing faults and replacing hydraulic components
- Fitting and replacing pumps, hoses, valves, seals and cylinders/ram assemblies
- Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping
- Completing job cards and workshop documentation
Requirements
- Strong mechanical engineering or fitting background
- Proven hydraulics experience ideally with heavy plant
- Experience within plant equipment, construction plant, agricultural machinery, HGV, or similar machinery sectors
- Confident strip/inspect/rebuild ability and good fault-finding skills
- Reliable, workshop-minded approach with attention to detail
Qualifications
Relevant mechanical qualifications are desirable (NVQ/HNC etc.), but hands-on heavy plant and hydraulics experience is key.
