Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of workloads from Ansible Tower to Ansible Automation Platform, supporting automation teams and end users throughout
- Guide teams on refactoring and porting existing Ansible 2.9 code to the latest supported versions
- Design, develop and optimise Ansible Playbooks, Roles and Collections for enterprise scale automation
- Implement and manage AAP components including automation controller, execution environments and automation hub
- Embed automation best practice, standards and governance across the organisation
- Integrate Ansible into CI/CD pipelines and wider DevOps workflows
- Troubleshoot performance, security and compliance issues across the Ansible estate
- Maintain and improve Tower/AAP infrastructure with a focus on availability, scalability and security
- Develop custom Ansible modules and plugins where required
- Provide technical mentorship and training to internal teams
Ideal Experience
- ~5+ years hands on experience with Ansible, Ansible Tower and Ansible Automation Platform
- ~ Strong working knowledge of YAML, Jinja2 templating and complex automation workflows
- ~ Proven experience applying Infrastructure as Code principles at scale
- ~ Solid Git and version control discipline, with experience embedding Ansible into CI/CD pipelines
- ~ Strong Linux administration background with good networking fundamentals
- ~ Exposure to cloud automation across one or more major platforms
- ~ Experience guiding teams through Ansible Tower to AAP migrations would be a strong advantage
- ~ Comfortable acting as a technical authority, mentoring others and shaping standards rather than just delivering against them
