What you’ll be doing…
- Report to the Delivery Manager; the Technical Project Engineer is accountable for commissioning electrical, mechanical & refrigeration systems, optimisation and final set up ensuring installations are set to work in line with customers specification on time, to the highest standards.
- Work closely with Project Managers and our service and compliance team to ensure all projects are left compliant with regard to latest legislation and internal processes and requests.
- Have a good understanding of retail refrigeration, Mechanical and Electrical systems and control logic as a minimum.
- Ensure all HVAC equipment controls, metering & BMS are working correctly and to the clients specification.
- Review control panel drawings with Project Manager and Design team.
- Travel as part of the role; stay away from home as required and occasionally work outside of the UK.
- Work within a staggered working week, including weekends and night shifts as needed.
- Assist with R&D and attend client meetings within the manufacturing division as required.
- Review the quality of installations with site services teams to ensure compliance, and issue the final sign‑off document detailing any installation or setup non‑conformities.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- All installations are compliant to the latest legislations, clients specification and internal design standards.
- Complete site specific Risk assessments on arrival to site before starting works.
- Issue near miss and accident reports as required.
- F‑gas reporting.
- PED Compliance.
- NICEIC Compliance.
- Site labelling and identification.
- Complete and issue defects reports.
- Complete and issue test certificates.
- Final sign off of installations.
- Assist installation teams when workload requires.
- Balance Heating/Cooling circuits – Both ventilated and liquid.
- Keep communications fluid between the delivery teams and Technical & Commissioning manager.
- Ensure training needs are identified.
- Work closely with other operational departments and ensure feedback on handover quality is reported.
- Carry out other duties fitting to the role to maintain the objectives of the business.
