About The Role

At Cloud Imperium Games, our Tools team builds the internal applications, pipelines, and systems that empower every department to create the universe of Star Citizen and Squadron 42. As an Embedded QA Specialist for Tools, you’ll work directly with our engineers, designers, and artists to ensure our toolsets remain reliable, efficient, and user-friendly. We are a crowdfunded company and have a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers who are helping us create the Best Damn Space Sim Ever.

Role Responsibilities

• Create & execute test cases for the Tools team.
• Work confidently as part of a team or individually.
• Verify, report, and regress issues associated with the assigned teams tools and workflows.
• Perform directed ad-hoc testing.
• Provide quality of life feedback on applications and pipelines.
• Provide support to / gather issues from support channels.
• Work with QA Leads to provide testing estimates for features based on their scope and complexity.
• Escalate issues that are found to the right level.
• Stay up to date with bug reporting methodology and standards.
• Correctly enter issues into Jira using approved bug writing methods.

Requirements

• Confident and ready for stand up meetings to represent QA.
• Be the point of contact in the specialised Tools area.
• Very strong work management.
• Be able to create hand-offs detailing work carried out for other departments/studios (Daily Reports).
• Flexibility to take on assignments outside of specialisation.
• Very detail conscious.
• Be prepared to answer any question that may be fielded by QA Management, QA Leads, QA Seniors, developers, producers, or a teammate in regards to system functionality and overall health.
• Be familiar with bugs that have been entered for the team.
• Establish rules with QA leadership and development team for how bugs for the system or area will be formatted and what information needs to be included.
• Document, review, and correct user documentation.
• Communicate any major updates about the system or area to the wider QA team.
• Establish and maintain your team-specific documentation to aid other QA members in testing a system.
