We are a crowdfunded company and have a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers who are helping us create the “Best Damn Space Sim Ever”. This is an exciting opportunity for a Game Designer based in Manchester to join our Vehicle Design team and help push development of missions and sandbox content for Star Citizen. Working with the wider Design and Narrative team you’ll be creating everything you can think of within a Universe, from entire solar systems to the smallest creature in the darkest cave. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. What does a Vehicle Designer do at CIG?
- Design and develop new vehicles and features for Squadron 42 and the Persistent Universe, working closely with the Lead Vehicle Designer and the Vehicle Director.
- Cleanly implement vehicle designs and their associated gameplay systems using our in-house tools.
- Liaise with artists, animators, audio, and VFX teams to ensure game systems are integrated with vehicles.
- Pitch concepts, designs, and full proposals to project leads.
- Identify and develop solutions that will not negatively impact other systems or mechanics.
- Review each feature at multiple stages of implementation to ensure the execution matches the vision, goals, and quality requirements.
