As a Narrative Technical Designer based in Manchester you will be a member of the Social Team helping in pushing the story side of Squadron 42, on levels ranging from home bases to places where the action heats up! Squadron 42 is a narrative driven experience and what you work on will be a huge part of the game. Come and help us bring the 'verse to life!
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with the Narrative, Animation, Audio, Design, Cinematic, and Art teams to bring to life compelling narrative elements and assure their proper technical set-up into game and maintain mission flow.
- Assure the proper flow of Narrative levels and moments, including development and testing of a myriad of choices and outcomes that players can experience.
- Understand the game’s script, identify any scenes that will not work narratively or technically and propose potential solutions.
- Work with our in‑house AI scripting and scene development tools.
- Be the connection between the various development disciplines of animation, art, audio, and other design groups.
What Are We Looking For:
- A passion for developing Narrative scenes, scripted events, and Player experiences and for creating living, breathing worlds.
- An attention to detail and a passion for creating cutting‑edge story‑focused games.
- Functional experience with game engine and visual scripting tools such as Unreal Blueprint and Lumberyard Mannequin.
- Strong knowledge of at least one scripting language (Blueprint, C#, etc).
- Work seamlessly with other departments (AI, animation, code, level design, etc).
- Self‑motivated and proactive in seeking out solutions to issues and improving workflows.
- Present a strong interest in both the technical and creative aspects of game development.
