About the Role
As a Localization Specialist I, you'll get hands‐on experience with the full localization pipeline: from translation and proofreading to subtitling and in‐game testing. You'll work closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure that every line of dialogue, UI string, and subtitle is carefully adapted to resonate with local audiences, all while maintaining the vision of our games.
Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games creates cutting‐edge videogames that defy expectations. We're currently developing Star Citizen, a record‐breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single‐player adventure set in the same universe. Responsibilities
- Translate and proofread game and marketing content for EU Spanish.
- Maintain translation memory and terminology databases.
- Collaborate with external & internal teams to deliver high‐quality localized content on schedule.
- Support testing efforts to ensure localized content displays correctly and feels natural in context.
- Act as the primary contact for language‐specific questions and contribute to the development of glossaries and style guides.
- Embrace our growth mindset and actively share knowledge with teammates and vendors.
Qualifications
- Native European Spanish Speaker with a translation degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style skills in Spanish.
- Experience with localization, game translation or linguistic QA with strong emphasis on reviewing content for accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Experience using CAT tools (such as MemoQ) and CMS platforms.
- Good understanding of LQA tools, localization workflows and testing best practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with remote teams and external vendors.
- Ability to follow processes, guidelines, and quality standards.
- Attention to detail and a quality‐first mindset.
