We are a crowdfunded company and have a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers who are helping us create the “Best Damn Space Sim Ever”. We want to build the best we can deliver and we believe wholeheartedly in the value of exceptional diverse talent. Cloud Imperium Games is seeking a motivated, people-focused IT Project Manager to help deliver meaningful IT improvements across systems, infrastructure and services.

This role is suited to someone who has moved beyond the early stages of their career and is ready to take on greater ownership and complexity — ideally with a background in IT or technical project delivery. You'll bring strong communication and relationship-building skills, and a natural instinct for ownership, problem solving and getting things done. We are looking for someone energetic, proactive and able to bring people together to deliver outcomes — someone who enjoys making a difference and thrives in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and drive IT projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring progress, clarity and accountability.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across IT, Production, Operations and external partners — keeping everyone aligned, informed and engaged.
  • Translate technical updates into clear, business-friendly language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Keep momentum high: follow up actions, remove blockers, and motivate contributors to maintain delivery pace.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops and project discussions — ensuring everyone's voice is heard and actions are captured and followed through.
  • Maintain simple, clear project reporting and documentation, including disciplined action, risk, assumption, issue and dependency (RAID) tracking.
  • Coordinate external suppliers and partners, tracking deliverables and holding them accountable to timelines and quality.
  • Support problem-solving conversations, helping teams navigate challenges, uncover options and find a way forward even when the answer isn't obvious.
  • Support continuous improvement in how IT collaborates, plans and delivers outcomes.
  • Bring positive energy and initiative; someone who lifts others, drives progress and keeps people focused on delivery.

Growth & Development Path

This role is designed for someone who wants to grow quickly into an advanced Project Manager. You'll be working closely with an experienced Programme Director and IT leaders, gaining hands-on exposure to complex initiatives from day one. You'll have opportunities to lead increasingly larger, more complex projects as soon as you're ready.

What You'll Bring

  • A good foundation in project management gained within a technical, digital or IT environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills; confident working with people at all levels and disciplines.
  • A natural motivator who can influence without formal authority and build buy-in across teams.
  • Proactive "get-up-and-go" mindset; you take ownership, chase updates, close loops and make things happen.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; comfortable with ambiguity and able to find solutions when others get stuck.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to present complex information simply and confidently to senior stakeholders.
  • Solid organisational discipline; structured planning, action management and RAID logging.
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working (e.g. stand-ups, retros, iterative delivery) and tools such as Jira, Confluence or Trello.
  • Experience coordinating vendors/suppliers and managing deliverables in multi-partner environments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • A desire to learn, adapt and grow; thriving in a fast-moving, creative environment.
  • Passion for technology and games, and for making a positive impact.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ).
  • PRINCE2 Foundation or PRINCE2 Practitioner.
  • AgilePM Foundation (DSDM).
  • Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
  • Relevant degree (e.g. IT, Business, Management) is welcome but not essential.
