As Senior Network Product Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing our technical product line, working alongside Architects and Developers to build our products, with a focus on networking and network technologies. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will play a critical role in reviewing the wider market, identifying opportunities and new solutions we can offer to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design
- Lead the design and implementation of complex, scalable, and secure network solutions for our product line.
- Define and document our network products, and evaluate against industry best practices.
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, vendors, and tools for both client and internal projects.
- Innovation & Product Engineering
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities in network technologies (e.g., SD-WAN, SASE, NaaS).
- Collaborate with product teams to develop and refine managed networking services and offerings.
- Prototype and test new networking solutions and automation strategies to enhance service delivery.
- Act as the technical escalation for internal stakeholders, answering both technical and non-technical queries around our network offerings.
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with operations, security, cloud, and service delivery teams to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and architects.
- Lead technical governance activities to ensure design consistency and quality.
- Documentation & Process Improvement
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation, design guides, and client-facing materials.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, playbooks, and tools.
Minimum requirements of role
- Proven experience (7+ years) in network engineering/architecture, ideally within an MSP, Service Provider or product led environment.
- Proven experience in the product lifecycle, taking solutions from conception to release.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, architectures, and technologies including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with system design, architecture, technologies and system integration, ensuring tooling is built in a scalable, secure and cost efficient manner.
- Familiarity with development practices, including frontend, backend, devops/platform engineering.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud integration.
- Experience with system automation using standard tooling, including Python, Ansible, Jinja2 is desirable but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with clients.
- Track record of driving technical innovation and improving service delivery models.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, AWS Advanced Networking) highly desirable.
