# DevOps Engineer (Freelance)Full Time (40 hours, freelance), RemoteApply# About the RoleWe are looking for a mid to senior engineer to join us on an exciting journey to migrate our customers away from big cloud providers to robust, self-hosted environments, exclusively using European-based providers. Your expertise in Kubernetes and system architecture will be pivotal in enabling customers to smoothly transition to secure, reliable, and efficient infrastructures fully hosted within Europe.## Key Responsibilities* Configure, install, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and essential add-ons in self-hosted environments.* Design and implement reusable configuration templates based on completed tasks, enhancing operational consistency and simplifying future migrations.* Develop detailed architecture proposals that align closely with customer needs, focusing on reliability, scalability, and maintainability for self-hosted solutions.* Lead the migration process from cloud-based platforms to self-hosted solutions, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance post-transition.* Identify and implement improvements to system performance, security, and reliability, continuously refining self-hosted infrastructure offerings.* Engage directly with customers and internal teams, clearly translating business and technical requirements into actionable platform solutions.## Qualifications* Must hold a current, unexpired Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification## Experience:* A minimum of 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes, does not need to be in a professional context (homelabs etc).* Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, System Administrator, or similar role, specifically in migrating and managing self-hosted solutions.## Technical Skills:* Proficiency with Kubernetes configuration and cluster management* Familiarity with infrastructure automation and system templating.* Understanding of system architecture design tailored to self-hosted environments.* Knowledge of CI/CD principles and tooling.## Soft Skills:* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.* Strong communication skills for effective customer interaction.* Ability to manage tasks independently and collaboratively.## Preferred Qualifications:* Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.* Familiarity with system monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus and Grafana.* Awareness of security best practices for self-hosted environments.## What We Offer* Flexible Working: Hybrid or fully remote work environment to support work-life balance.* Professional Development: Opportunities for training and career growth.* Supportive Culture: Collaborative team atmosphere valuing innovation and open communication.* Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary reflective of your skills and experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
