A £1bn+ IT Services business with a global footprint and a reputation as one of the UK\’s leading Azure Expert MSP are looking for a Senior Azure Architect to lead the design of complex cloud, infrastructure, and platform solutions for their strategic customers.

This role is 100% architecture-focused, shaping, governing and assuring Azure solutions across enterprise environments.

The Opportunity

You’ll work across major Azure transformation programmes, defining technical direction, establishing architectural standards, and guiding customers through cloud strategy, landing zones, platform design, security, automation, and migration approaches.

Expect to influence at senior levels, own architectural decisions, and be part of an elite Azure architecture community within a top-tier Microsoft partner.

The Role

• Lead end-to-end Azure architecture across multiple enterprise customers.
• Own the design of secure, scalable Azure platforms including landing zones, governance, identity, networking, and automation.
• Define architecture patterns and blueprints across IaaS, PaaS, containerisation, and infrastructure modernisation.
• Lead high-level and low-level architecture design for cloud migration, data centre exit, replatforming, and cloud-native solutions.
• Guide customers through Azure strategy, cloud adoption frameworks, roadmap planning, and platform operating models.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into cloud architectures that are aligned, feasible, and future‑proof.
• Provide architectural governance and assurance across delivery teams – validating that designs are adhered to throughout implementation.
• Produce architectural artefacts: HLDs, LLDs, roadmaps, solution outlines, decision logs, reference architectures, and governance models.
• Collaborate with Security, Data, DevOps, and Networking SMEs to create cohesive end‑to‑end Azure solutions.
• Support pre‑sales as the architectural authority on complex opportunities (without bid administration).
• Stay current with Microsoft cloud innovation – recommending improvements across Azure governance, automation, hybrid connectivity, and cloud‑native services.

What They’re Looking For

Must‑Haves

• Significant experience in Azure architecture within an MSP, consultancy, or enterprise environment.
• Ideally experienced in a pure architecture role focused on design, governance, and customer advisory (not hands‑on build).
• Deep technical understanding of:
  • Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), Well‑Architected Framework, and Azure Landing Zone Accelerator.
  • Azure AD/Entra ID & identity design.
  • IaaS, PaaS, container platforms & cloud‑native architectures.
  • Automation, IaC (Terraform/Bicep) and platform engineering concepts.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence and lead discussions with technical and non‑technical executives.
• Demonstrated experience designing architectures for large‑scale migrations, modernisation programmes, or greenfield Azure estates.
• Excellent documentation, design modelling, and architectural decision‑making skills.
• Broad understanding of associated disciplines (Security, DevOps, Data, Networking) to ensure cohesive end‑to‑end designs.
• Microsoft certifications such as AZ‑305, AZ‑400, AZ‑104, SC‑100, or equivalent enterprise architecture credentials.
• Architecture experience in regulated sectors (FS, public sector, healthcare, enterprise‑scale private sector).
• Familiarity with FinOps, cloud cost optimisation, and governance models.
