The Opportunity

This is a 3-month contract with one of Microsoft’s most respected Solutions Partners and an Azure Expert MSP – a consultancy trusted by Microsoft to deliver complex Azure transformation programmes across the UK.

They’re looking to onboard a highly capable Senior Azure Consultant to support multiple live customer projects. The priority for this hire is someone with strong Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Nerdio experience, alongside broader Azure consulting, migration and landing zone capability.

They need someone confident, adaptable and technically sharp, who can step into customer environments and add value from day one.

The Role

You’ll be working across Azure migration, modernisation and end-user compute programmes, supporting customers through assessment, design and implementation. A key part of the role will involve AVD and Nerdio-led delivery, so we’re specifically looking for someone with proven experience designing, deploying and improving Azure Virtual Desktop environments, with Nerdio forming a core part of their hands-on background.

Expect a mix of architecture, delivery and customer-facing workshops – primarily remote, with occasional on-site visits when required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and implementing Azure Landing Zones
  • Delivering against the Cloud Adoption Framework (Plan, Ready, Migrate)
  • Leading Azure migration and modernisation work across customer environments
  • Designing, deploying and optimising Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments
  • Working hands-on with Nerdio for AVD deployment, management, automation and optimisation
  • Conducting readiness assessments and workload discovery using Azure Migrate
  • Leading lift-and-shift migrations across infrastructure, including VMs, web apps and SQL databases
  • Deploying governance frameworks, blueprints and Azure policies
  • Supporting infrastructure-as-code deployments using Terraform and Azure DevOps
  • Advising customers on modernisation approaches where appropriate
  • Running customer workshops and technical discussions remotely
  • Contributing across multiple concurrent projects

Core Technical Skills Required

  • Strong experience designing and delivering Azure Landing Zone architecture
  • Proven hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
  • Proven hands-on experience with Nerdio – this is a must-have
  • Practical experience with Cloud Adoption Framework (Plan / Ready / Migrate)
  • Proven delivery of Azure migrations across VMs, web apps and SQL
  • Hands-on with Azure DevOps and Terraform
  • Strong experience with Azure Migrate assessments and discovery
  • Governance, policy and blueprint implementation
  • Infrastructure-led Azure deployments
  • Modernisation and migration experience
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills

What They’re Looking For

  • Someone who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision
  • Strong AVD and Nerdio delivery experience as a primary technical strength
  • Confident running workshops and technical discussions
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects
  • Proactive and adaptable
  • Clear communicator, both customer-facing and internal
  • Flexible with occasional travel (rare, but must be open)

Working Arrangement

  • Primarily remote / home-based
  • Workshops and delivery conducted online
  • Occasional customer site visits (likely no more than once per month)
  • UK-based candidates preferred

Summary

If you're available to start on 01 June, and you bring strong AVD, Nerdio, Azure migration and landing zone experience, this is a great opportunity to join one of Microsoft’s most credible Azure partners on an initial 3-months contract with strong possibility of extension.
