This position offers the chance to work on an infrastructure that currently supports 60 petaflops of compute power, set to expand to 288 petaflops within five years, and to manage a staggering 4 exabytes of data… all on a system powered entirely by renewable energy.
As part of an international team of architects, engineers, and scientists, you’ll contribute to transforming weather prediction capabilities, pushing the boundaries of technology and sustainability.
NOTE: You MUST be eligible to achieve UK SC Clearance and must have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years.
Plus you MUST have your Azure AZ-104 Administrator certification already.
The Role…
They are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join a managed services team supporting a groundbreaking National Infrastructure programme.
In this role, you will play a critical part in diagnosing and resolving issues on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform, ensuring optimal performance for customer services.
Your daily tasks will include monitoring dashboards, triaging incidents, managing identities and endpoints, deploying infrastructure-as-code builds, and contributing to security design.
This position not only demands technical prowess but also the ability to coordinate effectively with both internal teams and external partners during real-time incidents, driving continuous improvement in service and process efficiency.
Your Technical Skillset
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a history of diagnosing and resolving complex technical Azure support escalations to a 2nd line Cloud Ops levels. Monitoring Azure alerts and investigating.
- Proficiency in Azure Operations administration and support including expertise in monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics (KQL), and Event Hub.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services including Compute, Storage, and Networking is also a plus.
The following is all good to know and have as well but can be developed:
- Solid skills in Infrastructure as Code with Bicep and Terraform.
- Proven ability to deploy and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GIT.
- Experience in identity and access management (Azure Entra), device management (Intune), and governance.
- Competence in scripting with PowerShell and Azure CLI .
- A background in enterprise-level support and adherence to ITIL processes for incident, change, and problem management.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and agile methodologies.
- Must-have Qualification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
