Location: London, UK (Hybrid in person ~3 days per week)

Type: Full-time, Individual Contributor

Cloud Capital is redefining how CFOs and engineers manage cloud costs. We’re looking for a detail‑oriented and commercially minded Business / Operations Analyst to join our growing team. You’ll play a key role in helping us scale our internal operations and deliver actionable insights across finance, sales, and customer success. This is a hands‑on, cross‑functional role – ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, enjoys solving operational challenges, and wants to help build processes from the ground up. You’ll work closely with leadership to analyse data, improve workflows, and support building scalable processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Billing Support
    • Monthly Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations across billing, partner invoices (e.g., Distributors, AWS Marketplace), usage data, and internal reporting.
    • Billing Accuracy: Support month‑end billing processes and ensure customer invoices match underlying usage, commitments, and savings logic.
    • Exception Handling: Investigate discrepancies, resolve data issues, and work with Finance/CS to correct errors.
    • Documentation: Maintain clear audit trails and process documentation for all reconciliation and billing workflows.
  • Finance Support
    • Month‑End Close: Support the Finance team with month‑end tasks, including journal preparation, reconciliations, and source data validation.
    • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
    • Accounts Receivable: Help manage AR processes, including issuing invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and supporting collections workflows.
    • Compliance & Filings: Contribute to quarterly and annual financial filings (e.g., VAT returns, statutory reporting support, audit prep) by gathering data, reconciling schedules, and preparing documentation.
  • Internal Operations & Enablement
    • Cross‑Functional Support: Work closely with Finance, Sales, and Customer Success to streamline internal data flows and reporting consistency.
    • System Administration: Help maintain and improve tools such as CRM, billing, and analytics systems to ensure data integrity.
    • Process Optimisation and Documentation: Identify inefficiencies in business workflows and recommend improvements to drive scalability and accuracy.
    • Project Support: Assist in ad‑hoc operational projects, including audits, process transitions, and system integrations.
    • Data Analysis: Gather, interpret, and present data to support strategic decision‑making.

What We Are Looking For

Experience

  • 2+ years in Business Operations, Finance, or FP&A roles within a B2B SaaS or cloud focused.
  • Experience supporting billing, reconciliations, or financial operations is highly valuable.
  • Strong analytical background – comfortable with data manipulation, financial models, and performance tracking.
  • Experience in scaling early‑stage startups or building from scratch is a strong plus.
  • We are open to a candidate working toward a finance qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) and will support study and development as part of the role.

Profile

  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong Google Sheets skills.
  • Familiarity with Xero, Mayday and Joiin is a plus.
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally with leadership and multiple teams.
  • Located in the UK.
  • Excited by the opportunity to design and refine processes from the ground up in a scaling business.

Why Join Cloud Capital?

We’re tackling one of the biggest unsolved problems in SaaS: helping CFOs manage and optimize cloud spend without taking on commitment risk. Backed by $7.7M in funding from top US and European investors, our experienced founding team has lived this pain firsthand, and built and exited companies before. Our platform is already used by fast‑scaling, VC‑backed startups spending millions on cloud. It gives finance leaders visibility, control, and savings, without locking them into rigid deals. It’s a uniquely differentiated solution in a huge and growing market. This is a career‑defining opportunity with serious upside: equity, benefits, and the chance to shape the company at an early stage. We move fast, operate with high trust, and believe:

  • Truth beats consensus – we surface what’s real, fast.
  • Debate is healthy – we challenge ideas, not people, then align and commit.
  • Bias for action – we make smart bets and learn by doing.
  • Ownership matters – see it, fix it, share it.

Location

This is a hybrid role currently based in Farringdon, London, with an expectation of ~3 in‑office days per week for hands‑on team collaboration, faster coaching and culture building. Occasional travel for team offsites and company‑wide gatherings is expected.
