About Cloud Bridge
Cloud Bridge is one of the fastest-growing AWS Premier Partners in the UK & EMEA, named AWS Rising Star Partner of the Year (EMEA 2023, UK&I 2022).
We specialise in cloud consultancy, migration, managed services, cloud governance, Fin Ops and AI/ML, helping organisations unlock the full value of AWS.
We are expanding globally with offices across the UK, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, Dubai and the Philippines.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Engineer to join our Professional Services delivery team on a permanent basis.
This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing delivery role within a consultancy environment - not an internal platform engineering position.
Working as a core member of multi‑disciplinary delivery teams alongside Solution Architects and Project Managers, you will design and build secure, well‑architected AWS environments and lead the migration of customer workloads into AWS.
Migration is central to this role: you will deliver Landing Zone deployments, enterprise migration and estate‑separation programmes, and the associated networking, server and database migration activity that underpins them.
You will also contribute to pre‑sales scoping and effort estimation, drawing on your delivery experience to help shape realistic, deliverable Statements of Work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build AWS Landing Zones and multi‑account environments using Control Tower and Infrastructure as Code (Cloud Formation and/or Terraform / CDK).
- Lead and deliver enterprise migration and estate‑separation programmes – migrating servers and workloads into AWS using AWS MGN and related tooling, across structured migration waves.
- Migrate databases as part of infrastructure migrations to AWS – for example, moving on‑premises MS SQL Server to Amazon RDS – using appropriate migration tooling and cutover approaches.
- Design and implement AWS networking for migrations – Transit Gateway, VPN, hybrid connectivity – and deploy application platforms into the target environment.
- Support live migration waves and cutovers in production, including planned out‑of‑hours activity where required.
- Contribute to Well‑Architected Reviews, security hardening, DR enablement and cost optimisation across customer estates.
- Work directly with customer technical stakeholders as a trusted, credible engineer in a consultancy setting.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to translate designs into buildable solutions, and with Project Managers to deliver within SOW scope, timeline and budget.
- Participate in pre‑sales activities: solution scoping, effort estimation and input into Statements of Work and proposals.
- Produce clear technical documentation – architecture diagrams, build guides, runbooks and handover material.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and capability building.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Demonstrable hands‑on AWS engineering experience delivered within a Professional Services, consultancy or Managed Services environment.
- Strong core AWS: compute, networking, storage, security and identity (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, Cloud Front, Cloud Watch and related services).
- Proven experience delivering AWS migration programmes for external customers, including migrating servers and workloads into AWS.
- Experience migrating databases as part of an infrastructure migration to AWS (e. g. on‑premises MS SQL Server to Amazon RDS).
- Proven experience building and provisioning infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Cloud Formation and/or Terraform).
- Experience designing and implementing AWS Landing Zones and multi‑account governance.
- Experience with architecture design work and the ability to estimate effort for consultancy engagements.
- Confident working alongside Project Managers and Solution Architects within structured, SOW‑driven delivery teams.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable in customer‑facing delivery environments.
- Based in the UK with the right to work; able to travel to customer sites and Cloud Bridge offices as needed.
Desirable Experience
- Experience using AI tools to support and accelerate delivery work (e. g.
Kiro, Claude Code, Amazon Q, Git Hub Copilot) – actively finding ways to deliver more efficiently and raise quality through AI‑assisted engineering.
- Exposure to delivering AI / data solutions for customers (e. g. Gen AI / Amazon Bedrock use cases, data platforms and analytics) – beneficial but not essential.
- Container platform experience (ECS, EKS) and CI/CD pipeline delivery.
- DR enablement using AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery; enterprise identity integration.
- Familiarity with security vendors (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Crowd Strike, Sentinel One).
- Experience with AWS partner funding programmes (e. g. MAP, Well‑Architected).
- AWS certifications – Solutions Architect Associate / Professional, or equivalent.
- Personal Attributes
- Pragmatic, delivery‑focused and comfortable operating within fixed‑scope engagements.
- Strong attention to detail when executing build and migration activities.
- Collaborative team player who works well within architect‑led delivery teams.
- Consultative mindset – able to build customer trust and communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Curious and efficiency‑minded – continually looks for smarter, faster ways to deliver, including through AI‑assisted tooling.
