We are working with a leading enterprise client to hire an experienced End User Computing & Server Security Engineer to support and enhance security across their desktop and server estate. This role will focus on securing Windows environments using Microsoft Defender and ThreatLocker, alongside supporting core infrastructure and end‑user computing platforms. The consultant will work across security, infrastructure, and support teams to strengthen endpoint protection, improve application control, and ensure a secure, stable operating environment across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across Windows 11 and Windows Server environments
- Lead the implementation and rollout of ThreatLocker across server estate
- Support application control, allowlisting, and policy enforcement across endpoints
- Secure and support Windows Server 2022 and 2025 infrastructure
- Manage Windows 11 environments, including application deployment and configuration
- Support installation, packaging, and troubleshooting of end‑user applications
- Ensure endpoint security configurations align with organisational and industry best practices
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to maintain a secure, resilient environment
- Support ongoing optimisation of endpoint security posture and tooling
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (EUC and Servers)
- Hands‑on experience deploying and managing ThreatLocker (or similar application control tooling)
- Solid background in Windows Server (2022/2025) administration and support
- Experience supporting Windows 11 environments and application installation
- Strong infrastructure background, including exposure to Microsoft 365 environments
- Good understanding of endpoint security, hardening, and best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve security and endpoint‑related issues
Desirable Experience
- Experience operating in enterprise or regulated environments
- Knowledge of Intune, SCCM, or other endpoint management tools
- Familiarity with security frameworks or compliance requirements
