We’re seeking a skilled Unity C# developer to join the team here at Cloth Cat Games and get involved in our new multi-platform game development projects. The ideal candidate for this role will have worked on commercially released game titles for PC and Console, have experience in gameplay design and a hunger to learn new processes and technology. This is a great opportunity to be a part of our busy, close-knit crew working either in-house at our central Cardiff studio, hybrid or remotely!
Responsibilities and duties
- Be a key player in taking a game from prototype through to release candidate
- Collaborate with designers to bring projects together, working on mechanics, game feel, visuals and polish
- Work with initiative and to project schedule milestones
- Take on technical challenges and find solutions to process hurdles
- Optimise and test the software to ensure stability
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing games/tools
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Have experience with multiplayer (Photon Fusion) programming
- Degree in a Computer Science, Mathematics or Scientific discipline
- Shader Graph and Shader pipeline + UPR render pipeline skills
- Understanding of UI/UX principles; Unity Canvas and UI
- Experience with scripting; HTML, JavaScript, Python
- Experience with mobile dev and SDKs (Android Git, Sourcetree, etc)
- Team development experience; able to build clean, moduled code that fits within an existing framework
- Proactive; able to solve issues effectively and suggest improvements
- Unity dev tools; Probuilder for white boxing, Editor skills for creating quick tools
- Understanding of animation – Mecanim / Cinemachine camera work
- Have worked on commercially released PC/Console titles
