Responsibilities:
- Work with the Senior Marketing Managers, Group Marketing Manager and Event Director, plus the wider team, to develop and implement marketing strategy, positioning, key messages and product strategy.
- Execute marketing campaigns and report on effectiveness and results, ensuring all elements meet required performance criteria.
- Work with the sales team to create sales campaigns focused on new client growth and increased client retention, driving revenue across all products such as digital, sponsorships and future revenue opportunities.
- Develop strategic audience development plans and ensure marketing communications accurately reflect event positioning and key messaging.
- Lead messaging and writing for outbound reach to customers. Good communication and writing skills are imperative.
- Collaborate with partners to develop marketing campaigns, lead generation strategies and compelling materials for all revenue streams across live and digital products.
- Ensure all relevant stakeholders have reviewed external marketing materials before sign‑off, including Content Leads to ensure editorial consistency across show brands.
- Regularly review marketing plans, response rates/KPIs, attendee demographics and industry best practices to keep marketing efforts effective and successful, making recommendations and adjustments as appropriate.
- Strategise, manage and optimise paid media campaigns across various platforms to drive sales inquiries and foster audience interest, ensuring alignment with the show’s strategic goals and brand identity.
- Collaborate with an external PR agency to maximise brand exposure and amplify presence across broadcast and industry media, ensuring coherent and impactful messaging.
- Oversee and execute community building and social media strategies that drive engagement, interaction, brand affinity and enhance the audience experience.
- Manage database, list management and development with support from business intelligence and data teams.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of key marketing statistics and forecasts.
- Manage marketing budgets, purchase orders and liaise with Finance on reporting requirements.
- Manage all planning and execution of the registration process for visitors.
- Responsible for delivering all delegate, visitor and attendee revenue generation, and developing attendee/delegate pricing strategies and reporting.
- Demonstrate excellent writing skills and creative ability to produce well‑thought‑out marketing plans.
Qualifications:
- Strong IT skills and systems management experience (e.g. CRM, CMS, databases, email marketing, marketing automation software).
- Knowledge of data protection regulations and experience ensuring compliance in email marketing and data sharing with third parties.
- Able to identify search words/key terms for data segmentations based on industry knowledge.
- Experienced in devising and implementing digital marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Solid knowledge and experience using digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics and Google Ads.
- Flexibility to accommodate extended working hours around key show times.
- Evidence of contributing to the development of marketing plans.
- Extensive project management experience and experience managing direct reports.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Experience in marketing events is not a prerequisite, but a strong project management background is required.
