WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a proactive, resilient, and highly organised Community Development Manager to support the Parcel + Post Leadership Conference. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in senior‑level outreach, relationship building, and strategic engagement with decision‑makers. You will be comfortable working independently, confident engaging C‑level stakeholders, and motivated by securing attendance from senior leaders across the postal, parcel, logistics, and eCommerce sectors.
THE ROLE
As Community Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in securing senior and C‑level attendees for the Parcel + Post Leadership Conference. Your primary focus will be building relationships with decision‑makers from postal operators, parcel carriers, last‑mile delivery companies, and major eCommerce and logistics organisations. You will be provided with a target account list of approximately 1,200 organisations, but will also be expected to expand this through proactive research and outreach. This is a hands‑on, strategic role requiring persistence, creativity, and strong communication skills. You will work closely with the internal marketing team and liaise daily with the Show Managing Director to align outreach efforts and maximise engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage senior and C‑level decision‑makers across postal, parcel, last‑mile, logistics, and eCommerce organisations.
- Proactively reach out via LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email, telephone, and other networking tools.
- Build and manage your own contact database beyond the existing dataset.
- Engage decision‑makers via telephone to develop strategic relationships and drive attendance.
- Develop tailored engagement strategies using marketing messaging, adapting it for different audiences and conversations.
- Convert marketing engagement data (email clicks, website visits, content engagement) into direct outreach opportunities.
- Follow up with engaged but unregistered prospects using data and web analytics.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, data, and content teams to refine messaging and outreach strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activity, engagement, and conversions, and regularly report on progress.
ABOUT YOU
You are a confident, self‑motivated communicator with experience engaging senior stakeholders and building relationships in a B2B environment. You are comfortable picking up the phone, adapting your approach, and managing your own pipeline from end to end.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in B2B outreach, business development, or community development (ideally within B2B events, retail, or similar sectors).
- Strong telesales or account management skills.
- Experience building and maintaining databases of senior contacts.
- Confident using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM systems, and email marketing tools.
- Ability to analyse marketing engagement data and translate insights into targeted follow‑ups.
- Strong planning skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Personal Attributes
- Resilient and persistent, with a proactive and solutions‑focused mindset.
- Adaptable communicator, able to tailor messaging to different audiences and seniority levels.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and documentation.
- Collaborative, able to work closely with internal teams while owning delivery.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment.
