IMRG is the UK’s ecommerce association, a membership community of online retailers and global digital tech companies. We sit at the heart of this dynamic and rapidly growing industry, helping retailers better understand and improve their online performance through a busy programme of data analysis, insight and events. We are universally recognised as the leading authority in this space and are now looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our sales team and grow our Solution Provider (tech vendor) membership. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to take on substantial responsibility quickly, with plenty of autonomy, variety, and the chance to make a real impact.
As Business Development Manager (no direct reports), you will:
- Generate new Solution Provider membership and sponsorship revenue via all sales channels: phone, in‑person at events, social media, and email.
- Take a leading role in LinkedIn Navigator outreach, identifying target groups, crafting outbound messaging, and using services such as Dripify.
- Collaborate with marketing to deliver lead generation tasks such as compiling lists and researching ideal‑fit companies through Cognism and Apollo.
- Conduct outbound sales to new contacts and convert inbound enquiries.
- Actively build and refresh contact data in Salesforce, maintaining accurate pipelines and monitoring account activity.
- Develop new leads through a mix of social media, email, phone activity, event attendance, and networking.
- Work closely with the marketing and sales team to help shape and deliver the sales and marketing activity plan.
You’ll be someone who brings energy, initiative, and commercial acumen to the table. Specifically, you will offer:
- A genuine enthusiasm and ambition to develop your career in the ecommerce sector.
- Persuasive character with strong and creative writing and communication skills.
- Experience using social media (primarily LinkedIn), email, and lead generation tools such as Apollo and Navigator.
- Commercial acumen, entrepreneurial spirit, and enthusiasm for finding new opportunities.
- Confidence and persuasiveness when communicating both on the phone and face‑to‑face.
- Strong organisational skills with CRM experience (ideally Salesforce), plus good reporting and planning ability.
- A real interest in ecommerce data, analysis, and insight.
- Excellent people skills, with the confidence to introduce yourself and hold engaging conversations.
- Sales experience (sector relevant desirable), with evidence of achieving targets, showing initiative, and delivering results.
We do not offer sponsorship for this role. CloserStill Media reserves the right to request a DBS or credit check should the role require it.
