We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Shipping/Despatch Coordinator to join a very well recognised organisation at their office near Stockport. THIS IS A FULL TIME, LONG TERM TEMP POST - ONGOING TERM! 12 MONTHS +!!
Hours: 7.45 β 4.30 Monday to Thursday, 7.45- 11.45am on a Friday.
Job Role:
- Oversee and coordinate orders and shipping
- Run and maintain the Duty Management System
- Liaise with customers and freight forwarders to arrange shipments and organise paperwork
- Update in house systems, tracking orders, negotiating with suppliers / freight companies to reduce costs wherever possible
- Keep on top of filing, ensuring all files have the necessary proof of export
- Raise purchase orders in line with agreed rates
- Create all export shipping documents and ensure that products are classified through the customs tariff
- Declare and book in imports, exports, commodity codes, code new items and enter new codes for customers etc.
- Deal with complaints or any queries that may arise
Skills / Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Experience of speaking with freight forwarders on a regular basis and managing the shipment process
