Join the Close Brothers Vehicle HireTeam, where as theWorkshop HGV technician you will be required to carry out repair and maintenance work on both CBVH and customer vehicles in line with CBVH and DVSA standards and guidelines.

Working as part of the Transport team,our ideal team member will have previous experience indiagnosing faults on vehicles using the latest diagnostic equipmentand must also possessexcellent customer serviceskills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The workshop technician will be required to work with a team of technicians to repair and maintain the vehicles owned by Close Brothers Vehicle Hire or operated by CBVH customers in line with CBVH and DVSA standards and guidelines.
  • Their duties will include mechanical repairs, cosmetic repairs, preparation of vehicles for MOT testing and taking the vehicles to MOT, as well as routine 6 weekly safety inspections and B services.
  • They will be required to have a good knowledge of the latest vehicle legislation as well as the technical equipment used within the workshop.
  • The workshop technician may be required to work shifts, or possibly operate from a mobile repair vehicle if so, required by the business. They may also be required to attend breakdowns.
  • The workshop HGV technician will be based from Ilkeston.
  • Performance of all maintenance services according to the manufacturer\’s instructions and according to the maintenance schedule/Service processor.
  • All visual inspections, adjustment operations, adjustments, operating fluid changes and additions, replacement of worn equipment (e.g., brake linings).
  • Resetting of the maintenance system.
  • Cleaning and care of the customer vehicle.
  • Responsible for repairing and servicing of vehicles booked into the workshop.
  • Carrying out warranty repairs to manufacturers guidelines.
  • Stripping, fitting and replacing components on vehicles.
  • Dealing and resolving customer queries.
  • Ensuring that their jobs and deadlines are met

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:

  • City & Guilds Repair and Servicing of commercial vehicles 383 Parts 1,2 &3 or equivalent
  • LCV experience would be advantageous.
  • HGV CE,C1E licence.
