Join the Close Brothers Finance Team where you will act as the group’s FINREP subject matter expert and be responsible for strengthening and standardising the end‑to‑end FINREP reporting process, covering both the group and solo returns. Working as part of the Finance team, our ideal team member will have previous experience in delivering FINREP reporting within a bank with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own, refresh and enhance the Group FINREP standard to reflect current regulatory requirements and internal control expectations.
- Develop and implement a clear framework for horizon scanning and change management, as well as assumptions, interpretations and judgements.
- Perform a comprehensive end‑to‑end review of FINREP processes and controls, from source systems through to final submission.
- Identify process weaknesses, manual workarounds, key person dependencies and control gaps.
- Review existing FINREP controls for design adequacy and operating effectiveness.
- Design and embed enhanced FINREP controls aligned to group control standards and the requirements of the Controls Transformation Programme.
- Act as the technical authority for FINREP, providing expert guidance and challenge.
- Provide clear deliverables, status reporting and handover documentation to ensure sustainability after contract completion.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
- Proven track record of fixing or uplifting regulatory reporting processes.
- Strong experience designing and embedding controls in regulated environments.
- Technical expertise in FINREP, including detailed understanding of templates and instructions.
- An ability to work independently, prioritise delivery and drive outcomes within a fixed timeframe.
- Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) or equivalent experience.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE:
- Experience supporting or delivering controls or finance transformation programmes.
- Experience engaging with senior management on FINREP matters.
- Familiarity with GRC or control documentation tools.
- Regulatory reporting, risk and compliance or audit related qualifications.
