Overview
Join the Close Brothers Retail Collections and Recoveries team where you will work as part of a small team of analysts and senior analysts to develop Strategy, MI and Analytics to support and maintain an effective Credit Risk management framework aligned with the Credit Risk Appetite (CRAS).
Responsibilities
- Production and evolution of high-quality Credit Risk related Collections and Recoveries MI, insight, and analytics. Identifying emerging trends and/or changes in portfolio and strategy in a timely manner
- Support the evolution of Collections & Recoveries Strategies within the Retail Business Units, leveraging where relevant credit scoring or decision tree capabilities, industry or bank data and techniques.
- Monitor Collections and Recoveries forecasts within the Retail Business Units against budget and forecasts, analysing trends and deviations. Work with the Credit Risk Manager to propose and agree actions required to address any performance issues and/or to capitalise on opportunities.
- Effectively summarise and communicate findings using appropriate written and graphical techniques in Excel and PowerPoint
- Ensure all credit governance requirements are adhered to including timely completion of policy reviews, audit remediation, incident management and escalation.
Qualifications
- Experience of Business Objects/SQL/SAS/Alteryx or other similar data analytical tools
- Strong analytical mindset to be able to understand and investigate complex issues in a methodical manner with appropriate attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and experience of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with and communicate complex information to management and non-credit colleagues
- The ability to work effectively within a team, sharing best practices and fostering a positive team spirit
- Curious in nature, exhibits a positive βcan doβ attitude and a self-starter as working as part of a small team
Desirable (not essential)
- Previous Credit Risk preferably in a retail environment
- Educated to degree standard (or equivalent) in a numerate subject with knowledge of statistical and analytical techniques
